We are thrilled to share that Zoho WorkDrive has been named a leader in Nucleus Research's CSC Technology Value Matrix 2024 for the second time in a row. Nucleus evaluated content services and collaboration vendors based on relative functionality, usability, and end-user experiences. Zoho WorkDrive has acquired the trending arrow as a leader in their Value Matrix published this July.

"Leaders in the CSC market are continuing to invest in AI and machine learning," said Nucleus Research analyst Evelyn McMullen. "They develop tools that enable users to summarize and obtain insights from their content. Also, they enable low-code process automation capabilities and internal and external asynchronous collaboration."

What is Nucleus Research?

Nucleus Research is a global provider of ROI-focused technology research and advisory services. Nucleus Research creates the Technology Value Matrix at least once a year in its core research areas. Each Matrix is divided into four quadrants: Leaders, Experts, Facilitators, and Core Providers. Solutions are ranked based on usability and functionality, with the "Leaders" in the top-right quadrant excelling in both categories.

The Nucleus Research Technology Value Matrix provides unbiased factual analysis, real-world deployment insights, and business case studies by assessing the financial and operational value of technology solutions. This helps organizations make informed investment decisions based on which products offer real value.

What is the Content Services and Collaboration (CSC) Technology Value Matrix?

The CSC Technology Value Matrix recognizes solutions that serve as a central hub for content management, provide process automation, feature generative AI, facilitate internal and external collaboration, offer enterprise-grade security, and ease cloud migration for customers still operating in on-premises environments.

Who are we and how did we become a Leader?

We are WorkDrive: Zoho's online file storage and content collaboration platform.

Zoho WorkDrive helps companies create a central repository, collaborate on files securely, and automate business processes with over 1000 integrations. More than one million businesses across the world use WorkDrive for their data management needs.

Here are some of the key updates that made Zoho WorkDrive a Leader in this year’s CSC Technology Value Matrix:

  • Zoho WorkDrive enhanced WorkDrive Snap—our asynchronous video and audio communication tool. Users can now mute and unmute their microphones, turn cameras on or off during screen or video recordings, and adjust the video resolution.

  • WorkDrive now includes a workflow builder that can automate routine and repeatable content-related tasks. Organizations can now build customized workflows based on their business needs by configuring states, transitions, and actions without being limited to an existing set of flows.

  • Users can connect WorkDrive with any other applications by setting up webhooks via custom apps. When an action takes place in WorkDrive, a notification with relevant details will show up in the other app.

  • The new WorkDrive add-on for Microsoft Outlook enables users to work more efficiently across the two applications. For example, you can share WorkDrive files and save attachments from your inbox to WorkDrive—right from within the Outlook app.

  • WorkDrive is now integrated with Open AI, enabling users to generate content ideas, draft email replies, refine comments while collaborating, and generate cover images for audio and video files.

  • Other usability improvements include the ability to upload large files in smaller “chunks”, improved search and filter options, and the capability to store and manage code snippets right from within WorkDrive.

  • WorkDrive has expanded language support to include all 22 official Indian languages.

  • Users can experience expanded security controls with data loss prevention. DLP in WorkDrive can identify sensitive data such as personal identifiable information, customer data, financial records, and intellectual property, and protect it from unauthorized access.

  • ManageEngine’s RecoveryManager Plus (RMP) now enables backup support for WorkDrive, which can run daily, weekly, or monthly automated backups.

Note: The workflow and data loss prevention features mentioned above are in beta and will be available to the public in the Q4 2024.

What's next?

In the new flexible work setup, companies find it hard to create a central repository where they can store all their content and enable secure collaboration across their distributed workforce.

Our goal is to unify business content and processes for scattered employees by offering a centralized platform. We are constantly developing new capabilities in three critical drivers of collaboration and productivity: AI, workflow automation, and industry-specific customization. These developments cater to the content management needs of modern, distributed teams by providing a central file repository and bolstering secure content management.

We want to take this opportunity to thank our customers, partners, and the press for their feedback and ideas. They have all been key drivers of Zoho WorkDrive’s growth, and we strive to continue improving the product to meet the latest technological demands in the content management space.
