Participate in "The State of Digital Workplace Transformation 2024" survey

Workplaces today are going through significant shifts, with new digital tools and processes designed to streamline work and boost productivity. Whether you’re working from the office, remotely, or in a hybrid setup, how we communicate, collaborate, and complete tasks is evolving rapidly.

This shift prompted us to explore a fundamental question: What does a typical workday look like for employees across different industries and regions?

Organizations of all sizes face common challenges—communication, collaboration, productivity, and security—core elements that must be managed efficiently in the modern workplace.

But to better understand how these essentials are being handled in the modern workplace, we’re conducting a global survey. We invite you to share your insights and experiences in the evolving digital workplace.

The State of Digital Workplace Transformation 2024 survey

What is this survey about?

The survey takes a deep dive into the day-to-day operations of organizations around the world. It’s designed to explore how employees and teams are adopting and evolving with digital tools and processes. By understanding how work is managed, we hope to identify trends that reflect the shift toward a digital-first work culture.

This survey covers critical areas such as:

  • Communication: How teams stay connected and informed.

  • Collaboration: The tools and methods used for teamwork, within and across departments.

  • Task management: How tasks are delegated, tracked, and completed.

  • Decision-making: The processes in place for making effective, timely decisions.

  • Productivity: How well resources are being used to meet deadlines and achieve goals

  • Security: The measures in place to ensure data protection and privacy.

Through your responses, we aim to build a comprehensive picture of how organizations worldwide are embracing digital tools and transforming their workplaces.

This survey will identify patterns in work efficiency, collaboration, and security practices across different demographics (organization size, type, departments, seniority, and more). By understanding where tools and processes are excelling—and where they may be falling short—we can uncover opportunities for improvement:

  • HR professionals can understand how digital tools impact employee engagement, productivity, and the overall workplace culture.

  • Managers and business leaders will gain insights into improving workflows, increasing task delegation, and boosting team performance.

  • IT teams will benefit from spotting trends in tool adoption, identifying common shadow applications, and detecting potential security risks.

  • CXOs and business owners will receive valuable insights for making data-driven decisions on workplace modernization, long-term digital strategies, and overall business growth.

The Workplace DX Maturity Model

We defined a Workplace DX Maturity Model based on a deep understanding of how organizations evolve in their digital transformation journey. The model explores four levels of digital workplace transformation. Each level represents a different stage of maturity in terms of how well an organization integrates technology, structures workflows, and supports its employees in completing their tasks.

 Level 4: Optimized Enterprise

  • Large enterprises (5,000+ employees).

  • Organizations needing advanced customization and third-party integration capabilities.

  • Global corporations and heavily regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, insurance) requiring stringent security and compliance.

 Level 3: Structured Efficiency

  • Mid-to-large-sized businesses (500 to 5,000 employees).

  • Mature startups moving to the enterprise level.

  • Regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) with security and compliance requirements.

  • Departments in enterprise organizations that need structured, scalable processes and integration.

 Level 2: Developing Workflows

  • Mid-sized businesses (50 to 500 employees).

  • Growing teams within larger organizations that are formalizing processes for the first time.

  • Startups scaling operations due to compliance needs or increased client demands.

 Level 1: Informal Operations

  • Startups and small businesses with limited resources (typically <50 employees).

  • Growing departments within larger organizations where processes are not yet formalized.

  • Freelancers or creative agencies that prioritize flexibility and fast decision-making.
