Announcing Xero integrations in Zoho Flow

Xero is the accounting platform of choice for over 4.6 million businesses worldwide, and is especially popular across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. If your team runs on Xero for invoicing, billing, expense tracking, or financial reporting, you'll have dealt with manually moving data between your business tools for various operations.

But now, with Zoho Flow, you can integrate Xero with your business apps and automate workflows around it.

Why this matters

Most businesses that use Xero don't use it in isolation. Sales data comes from a CRM. Orders come from an ecommerce platform. Support tickets reference bills and invoices. The accounting system sits at the center of all of it, but moving data between Xero and the rest of your tech stack usually involves copying data manually, exporting CSVs, or writing custom scripts.

With Zoho Flow, you can now build automated workflows between Xero and hundreds of other applications. Set up triggers, define conditions, and let the data move on its own.

What you can automate

The range of workflows you can automate with Xero in Zoho Flow is vast. You can move new contacts from your CRM to Xero as they enter your pipeline, create invoices automatically when deals close, notify your finance team in Slack or Zoho Cliq when payments are received, log expense claims from Zoho Expense or form submissions, or update inventory records when purchase orders are approved.

Here are a couple of use cases to get started:

Generating and sending invoices for closed deals in CRM

This is the most common friction point for teams using both a CRM and Xero. A deal closes in Zoho CRM (or HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive), and then someone has to manually recreate that information as an invoice in Xero.

But with Flow, you can now create a workflow in such a way that when a deal moves to "Closed Won" in your CRM, the flow picks up the deal details, maps the products or services as line items, and creates an invoice in Xero. Your finance team can choose to review it, and you can add a step in your workflow to send it to the customer automatically.

Support tickets with billing context

When a customer raises a support ticket about a charge or a payment issue, the agent typically has to leave the help desk, open Xero, search for the customer, find the invoice, and relay the information back.

Now, with Zoho Flow, you can build a workflow that automatically pulls the customer's recent invoices or payment status from Xero and attaches that context to the support ticket in Zoho Desk (or Freshdesk, Zendesk, or any other help desk tool). The agent sees billing details without leaving their workspace.

Line item support, built in

One detail worth calling out: Zoho Flow's Xero integration comes with native line item support.

If you've worked with accounting APIs before, you know the pain. Invoices and purchase orders don't carry a single value. They carry arrays of line items, each with its own description, quantity, unit price, tax rate, and account code. Extracting or mapping this data usually requires custom code or workarounds.

But when it comes to Xero integrations in Zoho Flow, line items are handled natively. You can read, map, and create invoices or purchase orders with multiple line items directly inside your workflow.

Availability

Xero integrations are now live in Zoho Flow for users on the Professional plan and for customers using Zoho Flow through Zoho One or Zoho Creator 6 (C6). Log in to your Zoho Flow account and search for Xero in the app gallery to get started!
