When should I run payroll so my employees are paid on time?

As an employer, it’s quite important for you to pay your employees on time. If you’re paying them via check or cash, it is possible process payroll even on the pay day (though we recommend you finish it two to three days before the pay day). Make sure that everything is correct and you have enough time to make any changes if necessary.

If you’ve configured direct deposit, then you need to approve the payroll three working days before the pay day. This is because there’s a holding period, required by Forte, to ensure that you’ve sufficient balance in your bank account. Once the amount has been debited from your account, your employees will receive their salaries directly to their accounts.​
