# How to import employees into Zoho Payroll?

To import employee details into Zoho Payroll:

1.  Navigate to the **Employees** module.
2.  Click the **More icon (⋯)** and select **Import Data**.
3.  Choose whether to import **Employee Details** or **Salary Details**, then click **Import**.
4.  Upload your file in **CSV**, **TSV**, or **XLS** format.
5.  Choose how to handle duplicate entries (**skip** or **overwrite**) and set the appropriate **character encoding**.
6.  Map the fields from your file to Zoho Payroll’s fields.
7.  Preview your data and click **Import**.
