# Is it possible to use different templates for transactions?

Yes, you can use different templates for transactions.

You can associate different templates with transactions in the following ways:

*   [From the transaction’s create/edit page](/uk/books/kb/templates/select-multiple-invoice-templates.html#create-edit)
*   [By associating a template with a customer/vendor](/uk/books/kb/templates/select-multiple-invoice-templates.html#customer-vendor)

### From the Transaction’s Create/Edit Page

* Go to the required module.
* Click **\+ New** in the top right corner to create a new transaction or select an existing transaction and click **Edit**.
* Click the **Gear** icon in the top right corner.
* Click **Change** next to the existing template. The list of templates created for the module will be listed in the pane that appears.

**Note:** You will not be able to create a new template from this page. You can create new templates from PDF Templates under Customisation in Settings.

* Hover over the preferred template and click Choose **Template**.

The template you selected will be used for this transaction.

### By Associating a Template With a Customer/Vendor

* Go to _Sales_ and select **Customers**, or go to _Purchases_ and select **Vendors**.
* Select the customer/vendor for whom you want to associate a default template.
* Click **More** on the customer’s or vendor’s _Details_ page and select **Associate Templates** from the dropdown.
* Click the dropdown next to a module and select the preferred template under _Transaction PDFs_.

**Note:** To create a new PDF template, click **\+ New PDF Template** at the bottom of the Transaction PDFs section.

* Scroll down and click **Save**.

The template you choose for each module will be the default for transactions created in that module for the customer/vendor.
