Vendors - Preferences

In this help document, you’ll learn the various preferences you can configure for the Vendors module.

To access the Preferences page of the Vendors module:

  • Go to Settings in the top right corner of the page.
    (OR)
  • Click Settings on the left sidebar.
  • Click Vendors under General.

General Preferences

In the General tab, you can configure the following preferences:

Duplicate Display Name

  • Check Allow duplicated for vendor display name to create multiple vendors with the same display name.

Vendor Numbers

  • Check Enable Vendor Numbers if you want to enter unique numbers to identify your vendors. This is similar to the unique number generated for each transaction.

  • Enter the Prefix and the starting value of the unique number in Unique No. Starts field.

Note:

  • Once you’ve enabled this feature, you cannot disable it.
  • Generating these numbers may take a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the number of records that you have. The Vendor Number field will be available once this process is done.

Billing Address Format

You can customize the format of your vendor’s billing address displayed in transaction PDFs. You can add additional content by clicking Insert Placeholders.

Shipping Address Format

You can customize the format of your vendor’s shipping address displayed in transaction PDFs. You can add additional content by clicking Insert Placeholders.

  • Once you’ve configured the required preferences, click Save.

Custom Fields

If your business requires additional fields beyond the pre-defined fields in the Vendors module, you can create them using Custom Fields.


Validation Rules

If you want to set restrictions on creating or updating vendors, you can use Validation Rules.


Custom Buttons allows you to perform specific actions to vendors when the button is clicked. Custom Links opens an external link. You can create them using a deluge script and execute actions based on the functions you add.


Related Lists allows you to fetch and view data from within the app as well as from other third-party services. This comes in handy when you want to cross-reference data from different entities.
