Duplicate Item Name
If you want to create or import multiple items with the same name that may have varied specifications, like size and color, you can check the Allow duplicate item names option. Let’s look at a scenario to understand how this feature can help you.
Scenario: Zylker Electronics sells a laptop named Zylker Laptop Pro, available in two colors: Silver and Metallic Blue. Although the model name remains the same, each color variant is assigned a unique SKU for efficient tracking of the items.
Prerequisite: Before you can enable duplicate item name, you will have to mark the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) field as active and mandatory.
To enable SKU for items:
- Click the Field Customization tab.
- Hover over the SKU field and click the dropdown next to it.
- Select the Mark as Active and the Mark as Mandatory options. The SKU field will be made active and mandatory.
- Click Show all items without SKU.
- Enter the SKU for each item listed and click the Tick button next to the SKu field of the item.
Note: You can also export these items, enter the SKU manually, and import them. To export, click Export the items in the banner at the top of the page.
