How do I whitelist URLs that are included in my SMS notifications?

Note: This is applicable only if you are registered as an enterprise with a DLT operator.

Zoho Invoice uses shortened URLs in its SMS notifications to send messages to customers. According to TRAI’s latest regulations, it is mandatory to whitelist the URLs included in SMS notifications. If not, TRAI might block the SMS notifications you send your customers, and you may also be charged for it.

To whitelist short URLs included in your SMS notifications:

  • Log in to your DLT operator’s website.
  • Go to CTA Whitelisting.
  • Select URL as the CTA Type and Short Domain/URL as the Link Type.
  • Provide the following details:
    • Select https in the Protocol field.
    • Enter zspay.co as the Short Domain.
    • Select the required header in the Header field.
  • Click Submit.

If required for your business, you must whitelist the long/dynamic URLs to comply with TRAI regulations. Here’s how:

  • Log in to your Zoho Invoice organization.
  • Select the transaction for which you want to whitelist the long/dynamic URL.
  • Click Share at the top of the transaction details page.
  • Click Generate Link in the pop-up that appears.
  • Copy the link generated in the pop-up.

For the Payment Links module, the shortened links will already be generated. You can paste the link into a browser and copy the long URL that appears. The part of the URL up to the question mark (?) is static, while the part after is dynamic.

Whitelist URLs
  • Log in to your DLT operator’s website.
  • Go to CTA Whitelisting.
  • Select URL as the CTA Type and Long/Dynamic URL as the Link Type.
  • Enter the static part in the URL field. You can also provide the link in the Sample URL field.
  • Click Submit.

Similarly, repeat this process for all the required modules whose transactions are shared with CTA URLs through SMSes.

Note: It usually takes a while for the CTA URLs to be whitelisted. You can check the status in your DLT operator’s portal. Once whitelisted, you can send SMS messages to your customers using the approved CTA URLs.
