# How do I choose which contact associated with an account in Zoho CRM is synced as the Primary Contact for a customer in Zoho Books?

If there are multiple contacts associated with an account in Zoho CRM, you can specify which contact should be synced as the primary contact for a customer in Zoho Books. To do this, first create a custom Primary Contact checkbox field in the Contacts module in Zoho CRM. Then, select this checkbox only for the contact that you want to sync as the primary contact.

During the Zoho CRM integration setup in Zoho Books, map this custom field to the **Is Primary Contact** field. When the contacts are synced, the contact with the Primary Contact checkbox selected in Zoho CRM will be synced as the primary contact for the corresponding customer in Zoho Books.

To create a custom checkbox field in Zoho CRM:

*   Log in to your Zoho CRM account.
*   Go to **Setup**.
*   Select **Modules and Fields** under _Customisation_.
*   From the _Modules_ tab, select the **Contacts** module.
*   In the next page, click **Standard** under the _Layouts_ tab.
*   Drag and drop the **Checkbox** field from the _New Fields_ pane and rename it to **Primary Contact**.
*   Click **Save**.

Now, when you create or edit a contact in Zoho CRM, select the **Primary Contact** checkbox for the contact that you want to sync as the primary contact for a customer in Zoho Books.

Once you’ve done this, map the custom field that you created in Zoho CRM to the **Is Primary Contact** field in Zoho Books. Here’s how:

*   Go to **Settings**.
*   Select **Zoho Apps** under _Integrations_.
*   In the _Zoho Apps_ page, click **Show Details** next to Zoho CRM.
*   In the _Connect Zoho CRM_ page, navigate to the _Configure Modules to Be Synced_ section, and click **Edit** for the module you’ve synced.

*   On the _Connect – Accounts/Contacts in Zoho CRM_ page, under _Select Module in Zoho CRM_ section, select **Accounts and their Contacts**.

**Note:**If you want to sync contacts that are not associated with any accounts in Zoho CRM and use them as the **Primary Contact** for a customer in Zoho Books, check the **Include contacts that are not associated with any accounts in Zoho CRM** option under _Accounts and their Contacts_.

*   Navigate to the _Map Fields_ section.
*   Click the dropdown next to the **Is Primary Contact** field in Zoho Books, and select the corresponding custom field that you created in Zoho CRM to map it.

*   Click **Save and Sync**.

The contact for which the **Primary Contact** checkbox is selected in Zoho CRM will be synced as the **Primary Contact** for the corresponding customer in Zoho Books.
