# How do I send order notifications to customers via WhatsApp?

To send automated updates via WhatsApp, integrate a WhatsApp Business account with your store.

*   Go to **Settings** > **Integrations** > **WhatsApp** and click **Connect**. You’ll be redirected to log in via Facebook to link your Business Manager account.
*   Create and get approval for specific templates for statuses like “Order Placed”. Approval from WhatsApp typically takes up to 24 hours.
*   Once templates are approved, toggle on the order statuses you want to send automatically.
*   Purchase IM Credits to cover the cost of messages, which varies by template category and recipient region.
*   Only send notifications to customers who have opted in, either during checkout or by signing up for the customer portal.
