# How do customers earn loyalty points in Zoho Commerce?

Customers earn loyalty points automatically on purchases based on the **Points Redemption Rules** you configure in your Loyalty Program. Go to **Settings** > **Setup & Configurations** > **Loyalty Program** to set this up.

**Earning points:**

Under **Points Redemption Rules**, choose a **Loyalty Type**:

*   **Single Criteria** — Customers earn a fixed number of points for every specified amount spent (e.g., 1 point for every INR 100).
*   **Multiple Criteria** — Set different earning rates based on order value ranges.

Set the **Amount per Point** to define the monetary value of each point when redeemed.

**Loyalty Program Preferences:**

From the **Preferences** tab, you can also configure the following options:

*   **Allow users to adjust the loyalty points of customers** — Admins can manually add or deduct points.
*   **Round off the loyalty points to the nearest whole number** — Points are rounded to avoid fractions.
*   **Deduct loyalty points when items are returned** — Points earned on returned items are deducted.
*   **Restrict awarding loyalty points when it is redeemed** — Customers do not earn points on the portion of an order paid using loyalty points.
*   **Exclude the tax amount while calculating loyalty points** — Tax is not counted towards points-earning order value.
