The Company
RIDEV is an electric mobility company with a vision to improve the earnings and quality of life of India's growing gig-economy workforce, through affordable EV subscription services. Through this, the company supports riders who depend on two-wheelers for their livelihood.
Featured on Shark Tank India, the company was founded by Manish Jain, a chartered accountant with over 11 years of experience across multinational organizations.
Traditional petrol- and fossil fuel-powered vehicles often create significant operational and financial challenges for delivery riders due to rising fuel costs, frequent maintenance requirements, and vehicle downtime. RIDEV addresses these challenges with a subscription-based EV rental model that bundles vehicle access, maintenance, servicing, insurance, and battery-swapping support.
Today the company operates a fleet of over 10,000 electric vehicles serving gig workers across multiple cities in India. RIDEV aims to scale its fleet to more than 100,000 electric vehicles across India by 2027.
The challenge
Rapid growth created a problem of scale. Each vehicle generated weekly subscription revenue, resulting in a large volume of small-ticket transactions that required accurate payment tracking, invoicing, accounting, and reporting.
RIDEV's systems were not built to handle this. Subscription management, payment processing, and accounting (on Tally) ran independently on separate systems. Because nothing was connected, the finance team had to manually reconcile transactions and transfer data between platforms.
Key operational challenges included:
Separate systems for subscriptions, payments, and accounting
Multi-city billing for customers across different hubs
Manual reconciliation between payment and accounting platforms
Delayed visibility into revenue and collections
Difficulty tracking profitability at the hub and individual-vehicle level
Increasing finance workload as transaction volumes grew
Limited automation for managing recurring subscriptions via the mobile apps—the very channel that drives revenue
Calculation of asset depreciation and insurance costs
With over 1,000 transactions processed daily, RIDEV needed a unified platform that could automate collections, invoicing, accounting, and reporting while supporting future growth, while also connecting the most important platform, the mobile app, through which the major customer communications and transactions happened.
The team was also looking for an overall system that could improve employee experience and payroll management, procurement, inventory asset management tracking, and more in a single resource planning software.
The solution: Zoho ERP
After evaluating multiple options, RIDEV implemented Zoho ERP as a unified platform for finance, payroll, subscriptions, and payment management in the first phase, working alongside Learnall Solutions, an authorized Zoho partner based in Hyderabad.
Together, they began consolidating previously disconnected systems into a single ecosystem.
Today, Zoho ERP runs RIDEV's:
Complete accounting and financial management
Employee payroll processing and payslip generation
Subscription billing workflows for vehicle rental subscriptions
Mobile app-connected customer payment journeys
Automated payment collection via Unified Payments Interface (UPI)
Accurate, real-time revenue reporting.
Asset-level profitability tracking for every vehicle
Insurance Amortization tracking
Procurement Workflow standardization
Inventory and asset management with automated vehicle depreciation tracking.
One of the most important outcomes was closing the loop between customer payments and accounting operations. Customers use RIDEV's Android and iOS apps to select vehicles, subscribe to weekly rental plans, and make recurring payments via UPI. Once a payment is collected, Zoho ERP automatically generates the invoice, records the payment, and updates accounting records without manual intervention. What used to span multiple systems is now a seamless workflow.
"Our business processes over 1,000 subscription transactions every day. By combining Zoho Payments with Zoho ERP, we were able to automate payment collection invoicing, and revenue accounting, significantly reducing manual effort while improving financial accuracy."

Benefits & ROI
As RIDEV expanded operations, real-time visibility became critical for decision-making. The company required financial reporting not just at the organization level, but across operational hubs and individual revenue-generating vehicles.
Zoho ERP enabled RIDEV to:
View revenue performance in real time.
Track profitability at the organization, hub, and individual-vehicle level.
Gain a clearer view of the true operating cost of each vehicle
Eliminated manual finance workloads equivalent to 3 employees.
Eliminate delays between collections and accounting from 48hrs to 0.
Improve procurement efficiency through structured purchasing workflows.
Improve the accuracy of financial reporting by 60%.
According to the company, the gap between a payment being collected via their payment gateway and that revenue appearing in books was roughly 48 hours. After implementing Zoho ERP, this visibility was available in real time.
Looking Ahead
As the company tests its first phase of implementations on multiple business operational fronts, RIDEV continues to expand its use of Zoho ERP as the business scales.
As the next phase of implementation scales, the company has started extending the platform to support asset lifecycle management and operational asset reporting.
In parallel, payroll for more than 100 employees is being consolidated into Zoho ERP, bringing financial and workforce management onto one centralized platform.
As RIDEV drives toward its goal of 100,000 electric vehicles across India, Zoho ERP is set to serve as the operational backbone for the company's next phase of growth.
