# Pay Summary

The **Pay Summary** report in Zoho Payroll provides a detailed view of individual employees’ pay data over a selected period. This report displays key pay components, allowing you to analyze gross pay, benefits, deductions, taxes, and other relevant details for each employee.

## Viewing Pay Summary

To view your Pay Summary report:

1.  Go to **Reports** on the left sidebar.
2.  Select **Pay Summary**.
3.  Use the date selector at the top of the page to choose the period you wish to analyze. Options include:
    *   This Week
    *   This Month
    *   This Quarter
    *   This Year
    *   Previous Week
    *   Previous Month
    *   Previous Quarter
    *   Previous Year
    *   Custom

The selected period’s pay data will display on the screen, organized by employee and key pay components.

## Pay Summary Components

The report includes the following columns to provide a comprehensive view of each employee’s pay details:

**Component**

**Description**

**Employee Name**

Displays the name of each employee included in the report.

**Paid Hours**

Shows the total hours for which the employee was paid during the selected period.

**Gross Pay**

The total pay before any deductions, including regular wages, bonuses, and other earnings.

**Benefits**

The total value of benefits provided to each employee, such as health insurance and retirement contributions.

**Deductions**

Total deductions from the employee’s pay, including retirement contributions, garnishments, and other withholdings.

**Taxes**

The total amount of payroll taxes withheld from the employee’s earnings.

**Business Expense Reimbursements**

Reimbursements provided to employees for approved business expenses.

**Net Pay**

The final amount paid to each employee after all deductions and taxes have been subtracted from the gross pay. This represents the net amount received by the employee.

## Exporting Pay Summary

You can export the **Pay Summary** report for further analysis or record-keeping. Available export formats include:

*   PDF
*   CSV
*   XLS or XLSX

To export the Pay Summary report:

1.  Go to **Reports** on the left sidebar.
2.  Click **Pay Summary**.
3.  Click the **Export as** dropdown at the top right corner of the page.
4.  Choose your preferred format for exporting.
5.  If you want to protect the exported file with a password, check the **Protect this file with a password** option and enter a password with at least 6 characters.
6.  Click **Export** to download the report.
