# How do I create a subscription in online (auto-debit) mode?

First, save the customer’s payment details, then create the subscription in online mode.

### Step 1: Collect the customer’s payment details

Before creating the subscription, make sure the customer’s payment details are saved in their record in Zoho Billing.

*   Go to _Customers_.
*   Select the customer for whom you want to set up auto-debit.
*   Click the **More** dropdown and select **Request Payment Information**.
*   Zoho Billing will send an email to the customer with a secure link to enter their payment details.

**Note:** The customer must consent to saving their payment information for future transactions. Once they submit their details, the saved payment method will appear in their customer record in Zoho Billing.

### Step 2: Create the subscription in online mode

Once the customer’s payment details are saved, create the subscription and associate the payment method.

*   Go to **Subscriptions** under _Sales_.
*   Click **New**.
*   Fill in the required subscription details.
*   In the **Payment Mode** section, uncheck the **Collect Payment Offline** checkbox.
*   Click **Continue**.
*   On the next screen, select the saved payment method you want to associate with this subscription.
*   Click **Save**.

The subscription is now set to online mode and your customer will be charged automatically on every renewal.
