# Is it possible to cancel a purchase order if I’ve not submitted it for approval?

You cannot cancel a purchase order that hasn’t been submitted for approval. To submit the purchase order for approval:

*   Go to **Purchase Orders** under the _Purchases_ module on the sidebar.
*   Select the purchase order that you want to submit for approval.
*   Click **Submit for Approval** at the top.

Once you’ve submitted the purchase order for approval, you can cancel it. Here’s how:

*   Click the **More** icon, and a drop down menu will appear.
*   Click **Cancel Items** if you want to partially cancel items in the purchase order, or click **Mark as Cancelled** to cancel the purchase order.
