Can my customer pay for an invoice without logging in to the portal?

Your customer can pay an invoice without logging into the customer portal. You can share the payment URL with your customer, allowing them to make the payment.

Prerequisite:

• You cannot generate payment URLs for invoices that are in the Draft status.
• Your customers can make an online payment for an invoice only if you have associated a payment gateway with that invoice. Read our help document on how online payment works in invoices to know more.

Here’s how you can generate the payment URL for an invoice:

• Go to Sales on the left sidebar and select Invoices.
• Select the invoice for which you want to share the payment URL.
• Click Share at the top of the invoice’s Details page.
• Choose the date up to which the URL should be valid in the Link Expiration Date field.
• Set the Visibility to Public.
• Click Generate Link.
• The URL generated will be available in the field below the Link Expiration Date field. Click Copy Link to copy the URL generated.

You can share this URL with your customer via email or SMS. Once they click the URL, your customers will be redirected to the portal, where they can pay for the invoice without needing to log in.
