How do I import data from a different software?

You can import data for the following modules in Zoho Invoice:

  1. Customers
  2. Contact Persons
  3. Items
  4. Sales Transactions
  5. Expenses
  6. Payments
  7. Projects
  8. Project Tasks
  9. Timesheets

Let’s say you want to import Customers. Here’s how:

  • Go to the Customers module in the left sidebar.
  • Click the More icon on the top right corner of the page.
  • Click Import Customers.
  • Select the file that you want to import. You can either drag and drop the file or choose it from your device.

Insight: On the same page, you also have an option to download the sample CSV file or XLS file. You can update the data in your file to the same format as the sample file and import effortlessly.

  • Once you’ve selected the file, click Next.
  • Map each field in Zoho Invoice with the import file’s headers accordingly and click Next.
  • If all your fields match perfectly, the next step would be to import the file by clicking Import. In case there is a mismatch, we would be listing out the fields along with the error. You can check, correct it, and re-upload.

Once the import process is over, all your data would be successfully imported into Zoho Invoice. The same steps will apply for importing data for the other modules as well.
