A Test Organization lets you test the functionality and play with the services, customize the settings as per your requirements and make yourself comfortable enough to switch to live organization and start taking real payments. Payment gateways also work on test sandbox credentials which make test transactions for the merchant account.
A Live Organization as the name indicates is live in which all the transactions are real. The settings from the test organization can be cloned for live organization, so you need not configure the settings again. All the configurations from the test org can be imported to the live org with a single click. This serves as a platform for directly dealing with customers and manage the subscription business.
