What does PII mean? How is the data in PII fields secured in Zoho Books?

Any information that can potentially identify an individual will fall under PII (Personally Identifiable Information). These are classified into two types: direct (e.g., name, email, phone number, etc) and indirect (e.g., date of birth, gender, etc).

Zoho Books embraces GDPR’s commitment to secure and protect your personally identifiable information.

You can create custom fields and configure them to encrypt and store PII data. The contents of these fields will be encrypted when stored on our servers. When exporting entities, you can choose whether to include PII fields and also assign which user roles have access to PII fields. You can learn more about these privacy features from our help document.
